Best Shopify Inventory Management Apps in 2026, Compared for Small Stores

Shopify inventory apps by job: reorder planning from $0 a month, stock sync from $0, warehouse systems from $299, prices from App Store listings on October 24, 2026

Stocky closed on August 31, 2026, and Shopify's own inventory tools grew a lot this year: purchase orders that create receiving transfers, stock counts in the admin, and Sidekick suggesting what to reorder. So the first question for a small store is which job Shopify still leaves to you, and only then which app does it. This guide sorts nine apps by that job, with every price and rating taken from each app's Shopify App Store listing on October 24, 2026. We make EZstock, one of the apps below, so we've stuck to what each listing says and marked our own entry.

In one line

For a small store, start with Shopify's built-in purchase orders, receiving and stock counts. Add an app only for the job Shopify leaves to you: reorder planning (EZstock, Prediko, Fabrikatör, Inventory Planner), keeping stock in sync across stores and channels (Trunk, syncX), or running a warehouse across many channels (SKULabs, Cin7 Core, Linnworks).

Key takeaways
  • Shopify now handles purchase orders, receiving into stock and stock counts in the admin, and Sidekick can suggest what to reorder.
  • Reorder planning apps forecast demand and build supplier orders. Listed prices start at $0 for EZstock, $49 a month for Prediko and $99 a month for Fabrikatör, and Inventory Planner quotes on request.
  • Sync apps keep one stock count across several stores or channels. Trunk starts at $35 a month and syncX has a free plan.
  • Warehouse and multichannel systems start at $299 a month for SKULabs and $349 for Cin7 Core, so they suit bigger operations.
  • Choose by the job and how the app charges (flat, by revenue, or by orders), then test one real week of orders in the free trial.

What does Shopify do for inventory without an app?

More than it did a year ago. Shopify's help page on purchase orders says you can "save a purchase order as a draft to work on later, or mark it as Ordered after your supplier confirms," and keep suppliers "with their contact details, payment terms, and currencies." On June 22, 2026, Shopify's changelog announced that "purchase orders now create transfers to move inventory," so you can receive a delivery in the admin or in POS, including partial deliveries.

On October 20, 2026, stock counts arrived in the admin: Shopify's changelog says you can "create a count, have staff record what's on the shelf using barcode scanning or manual entry, then review results before stock levels change." And Shopify's June 17, 2026 announcement says you can ask Sidekick what to reorder, and it "looks at what's been selling, what you have left, and forecasts demand to recommend what to buy and how much." Shopify's reports add a Days of inventory remaining report and an ABC analysis.

Three jobs are still left to you or to an app:

Ratings below are the App Store's average and review count on October 24, 2026. A rating from a handful of reviews tells you much less than one from hundreds, so read the reviews that match your store's size.

Reorder planning apps

EZstock (ours)

EZstock is our app, so treat this entry as the maker's description. Its listing calls it a way to "see what to reorder and when, email purchase orders, get low stock alerts and count stock with a scanner," and it has a 5.0 rating from 1 review. The Free plan includes unlimited suppliers and products, up to 5 purchase orders a month and a low-stock dashboard with reorder points. Starter is $19 a month and Growth is $49 a month. Growth adds demand forecasting from up to 365 days of sales, barcode scanning, and receiving that updates Shopify stock at the location you pick. Every install gets 14 days of every feature with no credit card.

Fits: small stores that buy from suppliers and want reorder points, supplier purchase orders by email, and forecasting at a flat price.

Prediko Inventory Management

Prediko's listing describes "demand forecasting, inventory transfers, raw materials, manage purchase orders & reports," with a 4.9 rating from 264 reviews. Pricing is based on sales over the last 12 months: $49 a month under $100,000, $119 from $100,000 to $500,000, and $199 from $500,000 to $2 million, with larger brands priced on its website. Plans list unlimited users, SKUs and inventory alerts, AI demand forecasting and a supply planner, unlimited purchase orders, and 20+ inventory reports. There's a 14-day free trial.

Fits: growing brands that want forecasting and purchasing in one place and are happy to pay by revenue.

Fabrikatör Inventory Planner

Fabrikatör's listing describes "an inventory planning and optimization solution, designed for Shopify brands" that can "replenish, and create purchase orders & backorders." It has a 4.8 rating from 112 reviews. Seed is $99 a month for stores up to $500,000 in yearly revenue, Scale-up is $149 up to $1.5 million, and Growth is $199 up to $2.5 million. Each adds $0.75 per backorder after 50 free ones. Plans include forecasting, purchase orders, bundle planning, reports, and backorders and pre-orders, with a 14-day free trial.

Fits: brands that sell on backorder or pre-order and plan bundles.

Inventory Planner by Sage

Inventory Planner's listing says it helps "forecast demand, optimize inventory & streamline purchases," with a 4.3 rating from 154 reviews. The listing doesn't publish prices: "Pricing adapts to your business needs. Contact us to get a quote."

Fits: larger catalogs that want a dedicated forecasting tool and don't mind a sales conversation.

Stock sync apps

Trunk

Trunk's listing, "Trunk - Stock Sync & Bundling," has a 4.9 rating from 406 reviews. Plans list real-time stock level syncing, low stock alerts and unlimited sales channels. Essential is $35 a month and rises with order volume: $45 for 101 to 200 orders a month, $59 for 201 to 400 and $89 for 401 to 800. Pro starts at $39 a month and adds bundling and kitting and duplicate SKU syncing. There's a 14-day free trial.

Fits: stores that sell the same stock in more than one place and need every count to move together.

syncX: Stock Inventory Sync

syncX's listing says it can "automate products & inventory import from any suppliers in any format," with a 4.8 rating from 932 reviews. The Free plan covers up to 2,000 products with manual updates from one supplier feed. Paid plans start at $7 a month for scheduled daily updates and go up with products and feeds.

Fits: stores whose stock levels come from supplier files, such as wholesalers' stock feeds.

Warehouse and multichannel systems

SKULabs Inventory and Shipping

SKULabs' listing describes bringing "retail and wholesale stores, marketplaces, and brick-and-mortar sites" into one place, with a 5.0 rating from 65 reviews. The Starter plan is $299 a month for 1,000 orders, 3 users, 2 stores, 2 warehouses and 10,000 SKUs. Basic, Growth and Pro cost $499, $799 and $999 a month, with extra charges per user and order.

Cin7 Core Inventory Management

Cin7 Core's listing says it can "automate Shopify inventory, orders, and multi-channel sync," with connections to Xero, QuickBooks Online, Amazon, Faire and ShipStation. It has a 4.4 rating from 63 reviews. Standard is $349 a month for 5 users, 2 app integrations and 6,000 sale orders a year. Pro is $599 and Advanced is $1,199, with add-ons billed on top.

Linnworks

Linnworks' listing describes "inventory and order management software" and has a 4.1 rating from 3 reviews. Prices are on request after a demo with its sales team.

Fits, for all three: businesses with a warehouse, several sales channels and a team, where an inventory system runs the whole operation. They cost more than a small store usually needs.

What about Stocky?

Shopify's Stocky help page now says the app "will no longer be available after August 31st, 2026" and asks merchants to move to Shopify's own inventory features. Its listing still shows a 3.0 rating from 210 reviews. If you're coming from Stocky, our Stocky migration guide covers moving suppliers, costs and purchase order history, and our Stocky alternatives comparison looks at the replacements feature by feature.

How should a small store choose?

  1. Name the job. Reorder planning, stock sync, or a warehouse system. Most small stores need just one of these.
  2. Check how the app charges. EZstock, SKULabs and Cin7 Core charge flat plan prices. Prediko and Fabrikatör charge by yearly revenue, Trunk by monthly orders, and syncX by products and feeds.
  3. Price it at your size. A store with $300,000 in yearly sales and 150 orders a month would see $119 a month for Prediko, $99 plus backorder fees for Fabrikatör, $45 for Trunk's Essential plan, and $19 or $49 for EZstock, at the prices listed on October 24, 2026.
  4. Test a real week. Use the free trial on live orders: receive one delivery, send one purchase order, and see whether the app's suggestion matches what you'd have ordered.
  5. Check the way out. Make sure you can export your suppliers, costs and order history if you switch later.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best inventory app for a small Shopify store?
It depends on the job. For reorder points and supplier orders on a small budget, look at apps with a free or low flat plan, such as EZstock. For forecasting priced by revenue, Prediko and Fabrikatör. To keep stock in sync across several stores or channels, Trunk or syncX.
Does Shopify have built-in inventory management?
Yes. Shopify tracks stock per location, has purchase orders and suppliers, receives deliveries through transfers since June 22, 2026, and added stock counts to the admin on October 20, 2026. Sidekick can suggest what to reorder from your sales history.
Is there a free Shopify inventory app?
Several listings show a free plan. EZstock's Free plan includes unlimited suppliers and products, up to 5 purchase orders a month and a low-stock dashboard with reorder points. syncX's Free plan covers supplier feed updates for up to 2,000 products.
What replaced Stocky?
Shopify points Stocky users to its own inventory features, which now include purchase orders, receiving and stock counts. For reorder planning on top, apps such as EZstock, Prediko and Fabrikatör add forecasting and supplier purchase orders.
How much does Shopify inventory software cost?
On October 24, 2026, listings ranged from free plans to over $1,000 a month: EZstock $0 to $49, Trunk from $35, Prediko $49 to $199 by revenue, Fabrikatör from $99, SKULabs from $299 and Cin7 Core from $349. Inventory Planner and Linnworks quote on request.
Do I need an inventory app with only one store?
Not always. With one store and a few suppliers, Shopify's purchase orders, stock counts and reports may be enough. An app earns its cost when you want reorder suggestions per supplier, purchase orders emailed to suppliers, forecasting, or stock synced across places.
How were these apps chosen?
We picked apps whose Shopify App Store listings describe inventory planning, purchase orders, stock sync or warehouse management, and took every price and rating from those listings on October 24, 2026. We make EZstock, so its entry is marked as ours.
